sorry i have never read your books so i wont really be able to sufficiently comment on how bad they may be but honey, YOUR ATTITUDE STINKS!
as a blogger, you have a responsibility to the public. don't come over all "this blog is for me so i can write whatever the hell i like on it" because if this was a personal blog, it would be a diary. once you post entries available to the public, expect backlash. people are entitled to their own opinions.
if you are so goddamn smart, why are you writing chic lit? all chic lit is exactly the same. you want to read a real book by a modern writer? i suggest you try reading chuck palahniuk and then tell me that your books aren't total bullshit.
as for the people sticking up for you, exactly who are you people? what proof is there that mayzhee is not in fact ALL OF YOU. no offense mayzhee but the negative comments far outweigh the positive therefore might i insinuate that perhaps you are using fake accounts to stand up for yourself.
eliza, while it is a bit harsh of you to say that mayzhee sucks, i do agree that self-publishing a book is hardly the same as getting your book published.
as for being on the best-seller list? being a best-seller simply means that your book sells more copies than other books. ...
um, that doesn't mean the books are good. all it means is that mayzhee has a lot of friends (highly doubtful) or a lot of money to throw around on rubbish.
i am not jealous of mayzhee, no offense, but why would i be? she isn't prettier, smarter or more accomplished than i am. she doesn't write any better than i am capable of. as far as i can tell, her only special talents include pissing people off and having a less than mediocre fashion sense.
please refrain from being such a piece of ass on your blog mayzhee. i hope you realize that half the people who frequent it are only reading it so they can laugh at you.

dear mayzhee,
just a friendly tip. you have what is known as a long oval shaped face. the distance between your eyes and nose is vastly separated by your very generous nose. in short, you have an extremely long nose. i suggest that instead of taking photos from an upward angle where the length of your nose is exaggerated, you stick to more full-frontal photos which won't make you look like a horse.
also, your false eyelashes don't really sit right on your eyelids. i suggest consulting a professional on how to correctly apply them.
since you are still young, you should forget about foundation and just make do with what you've got. foundation while seeming like a lifesaver will only clog your pores and ruin your skin.
the photos which you upload on your blog are hardly flattering and i suggest a more thorough vetting of the pictures which put a face to your blog.

it looks like someone is being a hypocrite. our criticisms here are put down as jealousy. but your criticisms of the contestants on malaysian dream girls scream JEALOUSY to me. hmm, looks like someone wishes they could've been on the show.
while i don't particularly like the contestants on mdg either i think it is extremely slanderous to put down people based on their tv personalities. why don't you practice what you preach and keep your mouth shut about people you don't know anything about?
this blog entry simply gives us permission to criticize you ourselves, and boy did people jump at that opportunity.
as people have been pointing out, the self-publication of your book isn't much of an accomplishment. while i admire how you could even be bothered to do such a thing, i really don't think that the literary world needs even more drivel that is referred to as chic lit.
sure, it's an easy read but there should be standards to what is allowed into our bookstores. and there are standards that are enforced by publication houses. which is why self-publishing is complete nonsense.
however, in the style of paris hilton, you have managed to accumulate a vast readership by being a total pain in our asses. congrats on this because i've always thought paris was a fucking genius for building a career around absolutely nothing. i reckon this is even harder than building one based on actual accomplishments.
you also seem to shamelessly self-promote while putting yourself down at the same time. this is a completely fruitless way of fishing for compliments. you aren't going to get them that way. people appreciate modesty.
still, you have managed to produce an interesting blog for us to read. be aware though that most people reading this blog are only doing so because they just want to see how much further up your ass you could possibly bury your head.

first of all, jasmine you are a fuckwit. please never say munnie in my presence again. secondly, corryn you are an idiot.
it's called freelancing because you don't make a long term commitment to any certain employer and are free to work the hours of your choice. it is NOT called freelancing because you can give a substandard education to some child while their poor fools of parents pay you their hard-earned money (from a lowly 9 to 5 job, might i add).
mayzhee, RM15000 of your own money is a lot to invest in such a high risk venture such as this one. beware of the american market because:
a) you don't have to blog success and readership in the states so no one will buy the book in support of you simply because they don't know who you are
b) most book reviewers and critics and ALL large book reviewers and those from metropolitan areas do NOT EVER review self-published books. period. and they seldom if ever review fictitious books, particularly chic lit.
c) if your book is set in malaysia, americans will find it very difficult to relate to the cultural norms which will be portrayed in the book. also the language, slang and jokes probably won't play off well with them. if it set in america, you sure as hell have better done a shit load of research because they might find themselves scratching their heads while reading the book and going, "that place doesn't exist."
d) i'm not entirely clear on how you get book stores to stock your books. american stores are slightly reluctant to stock self-published books because they hardly ever move. since you are virtually unknown in the states and your book will not be prominently displayed, i will be surprised if you manage to move many copies at all.
might i suggest that instead of putting the cart before the horse (sorry to use such a cliché), you invest the money in promoting yourself and the book first as well as maybe getting together a target research group of americans to review your book and see if it is suitable for the american market.
as to making some money, why don't you sell one of your lv bags. they should pull in a couple of grand seeing as they're real and all.

btw, i actually do like mayzhee. i think her blog is pretty interesting and i'm really impressed by her responsibility and independence. not many people hae the initiative to write and publish a book. it takes a lot of hard work and dedication, skills which i think mayzhee possesses.
i like her writing style (even though i have yet to read her books) and i really admire that she is using her own money and is so determined to make it herself.
so contrary to popular belief i'm not here to defame mayzhee and insult her. i'm here to read her blog and if people just so happen to leave comments here i think i am well in my rights to contest them, aren't i?

i think the thing about eurasians isn't necessarily true. some of them are just bloody lucky and get good genes. but some of them look really like meh. i know quite a few halfies and a lot of them aren't that special. let's see, i know a pair of siblings that are singaporean/french and you're probably like ooooh! but they really just look asian. and extremely tall and slightly harrier. hahahahhaahahahah!!!! but they have a cool sounding last name. my boyfriend is indonesian/dutch and even i will admit he's not hot stuff. (he is a sweetie pie though - most of the time) then another pair of siblings who are japanese/american and they're pretty bleah. nice eyes and pale skin but you wouldn't exactly cast them in an advertisement. maybe for mr potato haha. ummm two sisters who are phillipino/german but in my opinion they look like chipmunks/dwarves. boys like the younger one though but they have admitted it's coz she's got a big rack. an indian/dutch guy who just looks indian without an indian accent. oh and my cousin is half english and even though i think she's gorgeous (i am so biased about this though) i wouldn't exactly say she is MTV vj material.
of course, then there are the gorgeous gorgeous ones that you're like ARRRGH why don't i look like that!!? over but they all have their faults. i know a beautiful girl who is australian and slightly singaporean who has a hunchback. she has a wonderful singing voice but is also incredibly stupid. it just shows that everything is balanced out ya know.
what i find incredibly unfair though is this: why do we asian people get stuck with black hair and black eyes? there is NO variation! aside from albinos and that chick from memoirs of a geisha (and those were contacts!!!)
also why are like 99% of us so goddamn short???

sorry i have never read your books so i wont really be able to sufficiently comment on how bad they may be but honey, YOUR ATTITUDE STINKS!
as a blogger, you have a responsibility to the public. don't come over all "this blog is for me so i can write whatever the hell i like on it" because if this was a personal blog, it would be a diary. once you post entries available to the public, expect backlash. people are entitled to their own opinions.
if you are so goddamn smart, why are you writing chic lit? all chic lit is exactly the same. you want to read a real book by a modern writer? i suggest you try reading chuck palahniuk and then tell me that your books aren't total bullshit.
as for the people sticking up for you, exactly who are you people? what proof is there that mayzhee is not in fact ALL OF YOU. no offense mayzhee but the negative comments far outweigh the positive therefore might i insinuate that perhaps you are using fake accounts to stand up for yourself.
eliza, while it is a bit harsh of you to say that mayzhee sucks, i do agree that self-publishing a book is hardly the same as getting your book published.
as for being on the best-seller list? being a best-seller simply means that your book sells more copies than other books. ...
um, that doesn't mean the books are good. all it means is that mayzhee has a lot of friends (highly doubtful) or a lot of money to throw around on rubbish.
i am not jealous of mayzhee, no offense, but why would i be? she isn't prettier, smarter or more accomplished than i am. she doesn't write any better than i am capable of. as far as i can tell, her only special talents include pissing people off and having a less than mediocre fashion sense.

just a friendly tip. you have what is known as a long oval shaped face. the distance between your eyes and nose is vastly separated by your very generous nose. in short, you have an extremely long nose. i suggest that instead of taking photos from an upward angle where the length of your nose is exaggerated, you stick to more full-frontal photos which won't make you look like a horse.
also, your false eyelashes don't really sit right on your eyelids. i suggest consulting a professional on how to correctly apply them.
since you are still young, you should forget about foundation and just make do with what you've got. foundation while seeming like a lifesaver will only clog your pores and ruin your skin.
the photos which you upload on your blog are hardly flattering and i suggest a more thorough vetting of the pictures which put a face to your blog.

it looks like someone is being a hypocrite. our criticisms here are put down as jealousy. but your criticisms of the contestants on malaysian dream girls scream JEALOUSY to me. hmm, looks like someone wishes they could've been on the show.
while i don't particularly like the contestants on mdg either i think it is extremely slanderous to put down people based on their tv personalities. why don't you practice what you preach and keep your mouth shut about people you don't know anything about?
this blog entry simply gives us permission to criticize you ourselves, and boy did people jump at that opportunity.
as people have been pointing out, the self-publication of your book isn't much of an accomplishment. while i admire how you could even be bothered to do such a thing, i really don't think that the literary world needs even more drivel that is referred to as chic lit.
sure, it's an easy read but there should be standards to what is allowed into our bookstores. and there are standards that are enforced by publication houses. which is why self-publishing is complete nonsense.
however, in the style of paris hilton, you have managed to accumulate a vast readership by being a total pain in our asses. congrats on this because i've always thought paris was a fucking genius for building a career around absolutely nothing. i reckon this is even harder than building one based on actual accomplishments.
you also seem to shamelessly self-promote while putting yourself down at the same time. this is a completely fruitless way of fishing for compliments. you aren't going to get them that way. people appreciate modesty.
still, you have managed to produce an interesting blog for us to read. be aware though that most people reading this blog are only doing so because they just want to see how much further up your ass you could possibly bury your head.

it's called freelancing because you don't make a long term commitment to any certain employer and are free to work the hours of your choice. it is NOT called freelancing because you can give a substandard education to some child while their poor fools of parents pay you their hard-earned money (from a lowly 9 to 5 job, might i add).
mayzhee, RM15000 of your own money is a lot to invest in such a high risk venture such as this one. beware of the american market because:
a) you don't have to blog success and readership in the states so no one will buy the book in support of you simply because they don't know who you are
b) most book reviewers and critics and ALL large book reviewers and those from metropolitan areas do NOT EVER review self-published books. period. and they seldom if ever review fictitious books, particularly chic lit.
c) if your book is set in malaysia, americans will find it very difficult to relate to the cultural norms which will be portrayed in the book. also the language, slang and jokes probably won't play off well with them. if it set in america, you sure as hell have better done a shit load of research because they might find themselves scratching their heads while reading the book and going, "that place doesn't exist."
d) i'm not entirely clear on how you get book stores to stock your books. american stores are slightly reluctant to stock self-published books because they hardly ever move. since you are virtually unknown in the states and your book will not be prominently displayed, i will be surprised if you manage to move many copies at all.
might i suggest that instead of putting the cart before the horse (sorry to use such a cliché), you invest the money in promoting yourself and the book first as well as maybe getting together a target research group of americans to review your book and see if it is suitable for the american market.
as to making some money, why don't you sell one of your lv bags. they should pull in a couple of grand seeing as they're real and all.

btw, i actually do like mayzhee. i think her blog is pretty interesting and i'm really impressed by her responsibility and independence. not many people hae the initiative to write and publish a book. it takes a lot of hard work and dedication, skills which i think mayzhee possesses.
i like her writing style (even though i have yet to read her books) and i really admire that she is using her own money and is so determined to make it herself.

i think the thing about eurasians isn't necessarily true. some of them are just bloody lucky and get good genes. but some of them look really like meh. i know quite a few halfies and a lot of them aren't that special. let's see, i know a pair of siblings that are singaporean/french and you're probably like ooooh! but they really just look asian. and extremely tall and slightly harrier. hahahahhaahahahah!!!! but they have a cool sounding last name. my boyfriend is indonesian/dutch and even i will admit he's not hot stuff. (he is a sweetie pie though - most of the time) then another pair of siblings who are japanese/american and they're pretty bleah. nice eyes and pale skin but you wouldn't exactly cast them in an advertisement. maybe for mr potato haha. ummm two sisters who are phillipino/german but in my opinion they look like chipmunks/dwarves. boys like the younger one though but they have admitted it's coz she's got a big rack. an indian/dutch guy who just looks indian without an indian accent. oh and my cousin is half english and even though i think she's gorgeous (i am so biased about this though) i wouldn't exactly say she is MTV vj material.
of course, then there are the gorgeous gorgeous ones that you're like ARRRGH why don't i look like that!!? over but they all have their faults. i know a beautiful girl who is australian and slightly singaporean who has a hunchback. she has a wonderful singing voice but is also incredibly stupid. it just shows that everything is balanced out ya know.
